Can I tell you about Alessandra Perez-Rubio. She’s the Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer of Mestiza, a vintage-inspired ready-to-wear and accessories collection that is thoughtfully designed to give women a polished, timeless and chic look, for any occasion. Last year, we collaborated on a limited edition clutch that was a runway success. It felt only natural that we would collaborate again this year. Alessandra’s style is confident, feminine and eclectic, qualities in women I’m always inspired by.

The Alessandra long clutch is a new sleek silhouette rendered in raffia with a variety of hand-embroidered floral motifs. Each and every one of these motifs compliment so many of the dresses from her collection.

1. What is your idea of happiness?
Saturday morning, lazing around  with my husband and kids,  with nothing to do and nowhere to be.

2. What is your greatest extravagance?
While it isn’t something tangible—it’s the freedom and autonomy to do absolutely everything and nothing whenever I want to.

3. What is your current state of mind?
Life these days is a little chaotic so my state of mind is focused but always juggling being a mom, a founder and creative director and a wife. My day never ends when I leave the office—I'm constantly moving from school drop-offs to dinner prep, designing collections, taking meetings, approving swatches, attending fittings, and everything in between. I’m dedicated to building both my business and my family. It's a beautiful chaos.

4. Whose style do you most admire?
I've always been inspired by icons like the Olsen twins, Kate Moss, Sienna Miller, Olivia Palermo, and Alexa Chung. I love how they effortlessly mix high and low, vintage with new, and rock and roll with preppy. That's exactly how I define my style—eclectic, sometimes directionless yet always polished.

5. What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Building Mestiza from the ground up while raising my family. I feel incredibly lucky to have created something meaningful—something that I hope will be my legacy—without having to sacrifice either passion or family.

6. What is your most treasured possession?
An emerald ring my grandmother left me that belonged to my great grandmother before her.

7. Which living person do you most admire?
 I admire other female founders that take it upon themselves to help and elevate women who aspire to do the same.

8. Where is your dream destination?

Literally any of the Aman Resorts.

9. What is your motto?
Trust that the dots will eventually connect, even though it might not make any sense at the moment.
